Rachel Dratch is experiencing a significant career resurgence, marked by her successful mystical podcast and return to Broadway in ‘The Rocky Horror Show.’ Her efforts have led to a second Tony nomination, establishing her as a recognized talent in the entertainment industry.
On her weekly podcast, ‘Woo Woo,’ Dratch explores topics like ghosts, astral projection, and the supernatural, though she insists she does not have a psychic. ‘Sometimes, because I have the podcast, I think it encourages me to discuss a lot of these quirky topics, and I’m not all about quirky stuff,’ she remarked. Her previous memoir, ‘Girl Walks Into a Bar …,’ shared experiences like prophetic dreams and meeting a channeler named Kendra, who predicted her becoming a mother. This prediction came true when Dratch gave birth to her son, Eli, a year later.
Sixty-year-old Dratch has also made her Broadway dreams a reality. Her comedic role in ‘POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive’ delighted audiences. Recently, she returned to Broadway, playing the Narrator in the revival of Richard O’Brien’s ‘The Rocky Horror Show’ at Studio 54, earning another Tony nomination. Though some were surprised by her stage performances, Dratch noted, ‘that’s actually where I started out.’
Her journey from podcasting to Broadway demonstrates her versatility and determination, garnering well-deserved recognition and acclaim.
