Recall Alert: Contaminated Cheese Breads Pulled from Shelves

A company based in Michigan is recalling certain frozen cheese breads due to a possible salmonella contamination. This recall by Champion Foods impacts specific batches of Motor City Pizza Co. 5 Cheese Bread. The recall follows a similar action by California Dairies, Inc., which recalled milk powder used in the cheese sauce blend.

Salmonella can cause symptoms like nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain in healthy individuals. It can also pose serious, potentially deadly risks to children and those with weakened immune systems. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), salmonella can sometimes spread to the blood, bones, urine, and organs.

The breads were sold across the U.S. at various retailers, including Costco, Walmart, Giant Landover, Grocery Outlet, and more.
