Reviving the Democratic Party’s Connection to the New Deal

Democracy can falter without transparency and accountability. The Democratic Party, with its rich history, is seeking to strengthen its ties to the principles of Roosevelt’s New Deal and the Economic Bill of Rights. Representative Ro Khanna highlights this effort.

On October 3, during a rally focused on wealth tax at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco, Rep. Khanna expressed a clear stance. He emphasized the importance of aligning with New Deal values instead of neoliberal or corporate leanings. He explicitly positioned himself and others as ‘New Deal Democrats.’

The Nation, established in 1865 by abolitionists, has long captured the essence of political and cultural shifts. It remains a steadfast, independent, and progressive force in media.

At an event in Los Angeles on October 5, named Ballots Over Billionaires, Rep. Khanna joined Senator Bernie Sanders on stage. Here, he reinforced his message by distinguishing New Deal Democrats from figures like Chuck Schumer. This declaration underscores a commitment to traditional Democratic ideals.
