After an eventful summer that featured a performance at Lollapalooza and the release of her debut mixtape, R&B artist Sherrionn is gearing up for what’s next. “Planning on dropping another project soon,” she stated recently. “We’re working on getting more of my music and my face out there.” A decade after launching her first track, Sherrionn is experiencing her most successful year yet.
Sherrionn has signed with Chop Squad Records, an independent label led by Chicago rapper and producer Young Chop. Her debut mixtape, “Honey Trap,” features her first single “Body,” which has surpassed 430,000 views on YouTube since its release. The music video showcases Sherrionn’s dance skills through its smooth choreography. Her vocals, known for their sultry quality, are complemented by the heavy bass production of Th3 Ink Factory throughout the mixtape.
Sherrionn’s love for R&B traces back to her early years. Her kindergarten teacher introduced her to artists like Bobby Caldwell, Luther Vandross, and The Emotions during nap time with their “legendary” records. “I found my voice young,” she explained. “My mom heard me singing one day, and that led to my parents enrolling me in choir throughout my school years.”
In August 2026, Sherrionn’s music video for “Slow,” filmed in Chicago’s South and West sides, gathered around 120,000 views on YouTube. At Crete-Monee High School, she learned classical singing, which she has since evolved into a mix of R&B, pop, and hip-hop. Pursuing a singing career was always her goal, despite attempts to explore other paths. She earned a degree in audio engineering and recording arts in 2019 from the now-closed Tribeca Flashpoint College.
Following a short period in Atlanta, Georgia, she returned to Chicago, immersing herself in the local music scene, resulting in sets at Lollapalooza and Sofar Sounds in Pilsen. Sherrionn’s July 31 performance at Grant Park was particularly memorable. “That was probably my best performance,” she noted. During her set, she executed a complex stunt she hadn’t previously mastered in rehearsals—an aerial split while being lifted. “I didn’t stick it in rehearsals, but it happened on the Lollapalooza stage,” she said.
Sherrionn also appreciates more intimate performances, like those at Sofar Sounds. “These shows make it easier for me to connect with the audience,” she mentioned. “It’s about connecting with those who genuinely engage with what I’m saying and singing.”
Outside of her music, Sherrionn is an influencer on platforms like TikTok, with roughly 174,000 followers. “Social media is crucial for promoting my music,” she said. It’s helped her establish an online community and fan base. “People feel connected when they know more about you personally,” she added.
Despite her many endeavors, Sherrionn is learning to savor each moment and express gratitude for her achievements while pushing forward. “I don’t think I’ll ever be completely satisfied because I’m always seeking new accomplishments,” she admitted. “I’m ready to keep growing.”
