Rob Gronkowski Joins Political Effort in New Hampshire

Former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski participated in an Election Day event with Turning Point USA in New Hampshire. Known to fans as Gronk, he appeared at polling locations in Bedford and Goffstown. He was joined by Republican candidates like gubernatorial incumbent Kelly Ayotte and state representative candidate Henry Giasson.

Boxing legends Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather, along with former Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola, also took part. The event marked a last-minute campaign effort in New Hampshire.

Throughout his career, Gronkowski has generally steered clear of political endorsements. However, he has emphasized civic participation. At the event, he waved an American flag, posed for photos, and signed campaign memorabilia.

“Need some help?” Gronkowski joked while in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room at the White House during a live news conference.

Gronkowski has a history of playful political moments. In April 2017, he visited the West Wing during the Patriots’ White House visit and humorously interrupted a news conference led by then-Press Secretary Sean Spicer. Despite such moments, Gronkowski consistently avoids partisan support. He prefers promoting civic duties like voting and civic engagement. His time with the Patriots and Tampa Bay reflected this stance, emphasizing sports as a unifier beyond politics.

The New Hampshire Get-Out-The-Vote Effort

Gronkowski’s Election Day activities aligned with fierce political competition in New Hampshire. The state was a key battleground with closely watched races for the U.S. Senate, Governor, and congressional positions.

Turning Point Action set up presence with tents and organizers at multiple polling sites, leveraging celebrity draws to boost voter turnout. Gronkowski posed for photos with local Republican candidates, including Kelly Ayotte in Bedford, and signed signs for legislative hopefuls in Goffstown. Despite supporting these candidates, he also advocated for voting across party lines.

Other celebrities were also active, urging voters to the polls. Jennifer Lawrence connected her Hunger Games role significance while encouraging fans to vote. Pedro Pascal urged action on social media without partisan angle. Dave Bautista shared his voting experience, showing his Florida vote-by-mail ballot.
