Rosie O’Donnell’s Reclaimed Spotlight

Rosie O’Donnell has credited former President Donald Trump for her renewed fame. During an interview with Amy Poehler on “Good Hang,” O’Donnell expressed that she feels re-famous due to Trump. Referring to Trump as “Mango Mussolini,” she jokingly suggested that he unknowingly boosted her career with his comments.

O’Donnell, a long-time critic of Trump, relocated to Ireland following Trump’s 2024 election victory over Kamala Harris. Despite their ongoing feud, O’Donnell has continued to appear on various podcasts and shows. She is also scheduled to guest host Jimmy Kimmel’s show for a week soon.

The White House directed Fox News Digital to a post from Trump’s Truth Social account, which features images of O’Donnell with a caption claiming she is “obsessed” with him.

In a conversation with Variety, O’Donnell suggested their feud persists partly due to their shared New York roots. She stated that their similar upbringing might trigger memories for Trump, leading to their contentious relationship. O’Donnell compared herself to girls from Trump’s childhood who stood up to him, believing this has influenced his perception of her.

O’Donnell’s comments resonated on Sophia Bush’s “Work in Progress” podcast, where she acknowledged that Trump may feel threatened by strong women like her. Additionally, she hinted at returning to “The View” for its 30th anniversary episode, although producer Brian Teta noted that no official invitations had yet been sent out.
