In May, Donald Trump Jr. held an intimate wedding celebration on two private Bahamian islands. Umar Kremlev, a wealthy Russian businessman, financed some of the festivities. Kremlev is the president of the International Boxing Association, a sports league based in Switzerland and funded by Gazprom, a Russian state energy company.
Kremlev recently traveled to China with Russian President Vladimir Putin as part of a delegation. He is under Ukrainian sanctions, labeled a ‘close friend of the head of Putin’s security service.’
