Sarti Rosa has officially arrived in the United States, creating buzz as a new must-try spirit. This Italian aperitif, crafted by Casa Luigi Sarti & Figli in Bologna since 1885, combines the flavors of blood orange, mango, and passion fruit. Historically available only in Europe, it is now capturing the attention of American consumers.
Rise of Sarti Rosa
Following the trend of summer favorites like the Aperol and Hugo spritz, Sarti Rosa’s vibrant pink appearance and sweet, fruity taste suggest it could become a direct competitor. Social media platforms, especially TikTok, have fueled its popularity, with many users touting its appeal.
One influencer expressed enthusiasm on Instagram, claiming that Sarti spritz is the new favorite. Another creator shared their excitement upon finding Sarti Rosa in Boston, showcasing its growing availability.
Availability and Market Reception
Sarti Rosa is currently available in select U.S. regions, retailed at around $29.99 in New York City. Although it hasn’t fully infiltrated bars nationwide, its potential is evident. Derek Brown, a co-founder in the hospitality industry, notes that while limited for now, its unique qualities could lead to broader demand.
Sarti Rosa’s pink color and refreshing ‘spritz-factor’ contribute to its allure. Often associated with sweetness, pink beverages tend to attract social media attention. With an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 14%, it aligns with current consumption trends toward lighter drinks.
Future Prospects
As more patrons request Sarti by name, Brown anticipates its rise in popularity, possibly obtaining the title ‘Drink of the Summer.’ This growth could see it competing directly with established favorites like the Aperol spritz.
Restaurants are integrating Sarti into new concoctions. Marisela Camacho from The Farm Italy in New York highlights the ‘Saint Sarti Spritz,’ blending St-Germain, lemon sorbet, mint, and prosecco. This version has proven popular, with pre-reservation inquiries indicating strong interest.
Camacho predicts Sarti will sustain its popularity beyond summer, with modifications for fall and winter contributing to its enduring appeal. The public’s eagerness to sample Sarti reinforces its staying power in the evolving American cocktail landscape.
