Former U.S. Senator Scott Brown, currently a senate candidate in New Hampshire, appeared on the Ruthless Podcast to applaud Sophie Cunningham, a shooting guard for the Indiana Fever, for her forthright defense of women’s sports.
Brown mentioned, “I don’t miss a game when the Indiana Fever are playing,” expressing his admiration for Cunningham’s bold stance against the participation of biological men in women’s sports.
Cunningham attracted attention earlier this summer with her comments opposing the inclusion of biological men in women’s sports competitions.

In the same interview, former Senator Scott Brown spoke at the Carroll County GOP Lincoln Day luncheon, emphasizing his longstanding engagement in debates surrounding women’s sports due to his daughter’s experiences in basketball.
“My daughter committed to Boston College at 15,” Brown reflected, highlighting her achievements as a Gatorade Player of the Year for two consecutive years.
Brown recounted the challenge of practice games where men were involved to enhance performance, noting, “To think one of them was going to take my baby’s job.”
Brown recently criticized the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) for its policies regarding transgender athletes in an opinion piece for the Union Leader.
“It’s hypocritical,” Brown asserted regarding the league’s approach, advising them to address the issue swiftly.
Senate Campaign Background
Scott Brown is currently campaigning to replace retiring Senator Jeanne Shaheen, having initially surprised many by winning the Massachusetts U.S. Senate seat in January 2010.
He confronts John Sununu, another former senator, in the Republican primary set for September 8. Meanwhile, on the Democratic end, Rep. Chris Pappas competes against several challengers.
The general election is slated for November 3.
