Sean “Diddy” Combs, a well-known music industry figure, was placed in solitary confinement at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey. Reports indicate that Combs got into a fight with another inmate.
The altercation reportedly began earlier this week when another inmate made disrespectful comments toward Combs. This led to a verbal exchange that quickly turned physical. Witnesses stated that both individuals engaged in shoving and exchanged a few punches before prison security intervened and separated them.
According to a source, Combs did not shy away during the confrontation, managing to defend himself effectively. Despite his efforts, the seriousness of the fight resulted in his placement in solitary confinement. As of Friday morning, it remains uncertain whether he is still in solitary.
In a statement to TMZ, the Federal Correctional Institution indicated that they could not share specific information about inmates due to privacy policies. “We are not at liberty to disclose or provide internal information pertaining to any inmate in our custody,” the statement said.
Combs is serving a 50-month sentence at the New Jersey facility after being convicted in July 2025 on two counts related to transportation for prostitution. His legal troubles began the previous year with an arrest at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Midtown. This incident followed a lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend, Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura, who accused him of rape and ongoing abuse. While that lawsuit was settled quickly, it led to numerous other allegations.
With over 100 civil lawsuits currently against him, Combs’ behavior in prison is under scrutiny. His scheduled release is in February 2028, but maintaining good behavior in prison could impact this date. The recent fight’s effect on this timeline is yet to be determined.
