Lauren Bennett, known for her performance in the 2011 hit “Party Rock Anthem,” has died at the age of 37. The announcement was made by her former group, G.R.L., on Monday.
“It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren,” said the statement on Instagram, signed by members Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton, and Paula van Oppen.
The cause of Bennett’s death is not clear, and her representative has not responded to requests for comment.
Bennett sang in “Party Rock Anthem,” which topped Billboard’s chart for six weeks upon its release in 2011. The track was one of LMFAO’s two chart-topping hits, alongside “Sexy and I Know It.”

The members of G.R.L. expressed their grief and love in their statement.
“Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us. We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us,” they said. “Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved.”
Bennett’s death follows the passing of another G.R.L. member, Simone Battle, who died in 2014.
G.R.L. originated in 2011 as a relaunch of the Pussycat Dolls before adopting the new name. Known for tracks like “Ugly Heart,” G.R.L. also featured on Pitbull’s hit song “Wild Wild Love.”
“Party Rock Anthem” remains one of LMFAO’s most memorable hits, sharing its No. 1 status with “Sexy and I Know It.”
