A tragic accident occurred on Sunday evening in Chicago’s south suburbs, resulting in the death of a six-month-old boy. The incident involved a single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 57 in Harvey, Illinois.
According to Illinois State Police, eight individuals were traveling in the vehicle when it crashed around 6 p.m. Seven of those passengers sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The six-month-old, residing in the Englewood neighborhood, was pronounced deceased at Ingalls Memorial Hospital, as confirmed by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Due to the accident, northbound lanes on Interstate 57 and the entrance ramp from 147th street were closed for approximately five hours. State police conducted an investigation during that time.
