A distressing 911 call released on Monday reveals the emotional moments following the tragic death of Isak Andic, the founder of the global fashion brand Mango. His son, Jonathan Andic, was heard tearfully requesting immediate assistance from the authorities after his father fell down a ravine during a hike near Barcelona.
I need help, my father has fallen!
Jonathan Andic’s voice echoed through the 911 call obtained by Spanish outlet El País, as he called for help, explaining that his father had fallen down a ravine near the Salnitre Caves. He pleaded for an ambulance to be sent quickly, as he could not locate or communicate with his father.
Isak Andic, aged 71, died in December 2024 after falling roughly 500 feet down a cliff. Jonathan, his 45-year-old son, was the sole witness to the incident. Authorities later arrested Jonathan in May 2026, investigating the death as potential homicide. He was released on bail but faced ongoing scrutiny regarding the circumstances of his father’s demise.
Jonathan Andic, seen exiting Martorell’s Juzgado de Instruccion 5, expressed the relentless concern in his conversation with the emergency operator, My father has fallen, I can’t see him, he doesn’t answer me, he has fallen down the ravine, I don’t know where he is.
Defense claims provided to Catalunya Ràdio state the phone call will serve as a significant piece of evidence. Jonathan, managing Mango post his father’s death, publicly denies any wrongdoing and maintains his innocence.
The family issued a statement through Reuters: There is no legitimate evidence against him, nor will any be found.
Initially deemed an accident, the investigation into Isak’s death has evolved into a suspected homicide.
Isak Andic, born in Istanbul, established Mango in Spain during the 1980s. His strategic vision built Mango into a major player in the fashion industry, rivaling brands like Zara, with a footprint in over a hundred countries. At the time of his passing, Forbes estimated his net worth at $4.5 billion.
Jonathan Andic, the eldest of three siblings, held the board’s vice chairman position at Mango. His role extends his father’s legacy in the fashion empire. As the investigation continues, the family’s focus remains on asserting his innocence.
