Target has announced the appointment of Isaac Mizrahi, a renowned designer and television personality, as creative director at large. Known for his vibrant fashion designs, Mizrahi will mentor Target designers, advise on product design and innovation, and foster new partnerships.
Target’s collaboration with Mizrahi is not new. In 2002, Mizrahi partnered with Target to launch a successful exclusive collection that paved the way for other partnerships with major designers like Lilly Pulitzer and Missoni. This collaboration ended in 2009, but the company is now renewing its ties with Mizrahi.
Mizrahi expressed his enthusiasm for the role, aiming to enhance Target’s offerings with more joy, style, and sophistication through storytelling and creativity.
CEO Michael Fiddelke is leading Target’s efforts to boost sales and reshape the company’s image. Since his appointment in February, Target has restructured its leadership. One key initiative is revamping the fashion segment, with plans to refresh 75% of the home decor assortment.
Although Target reported a significant sales increase, the company remains cautious as it adapts to changes under new leadership aiming to resonate with consumers.
