A representative for Swift confirmed the union, which took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City in front of a thousand friends and family members. The ceremony was led by comedian Adam Sandler.
The wedding did not follow traditional conventions. Instead of a usual bridal party, Swift’s ‘man of honor’ was her brother, Austin Swift. Travis Kelce’s best man was his brother, Jason Kelce, also a notable football player.
The bride and groom wore outfits designed by Christian Dior Haute Couture, paired with custom Christian Louboutin shoes. Swift dazzled in Cartier jewelry, according to her team.
The guest list was filled with celebrities including Jessica Chastain, The Chicks, Karlie Kloss, Camilla Cabello, Hugh Grant, Ed Sheeran, Jason Sudeikis, Ethan Hawke, Benson Boone, Dakota Johnson, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Lena Dunham, and the Haim sisters.
The couple’s nuptials were considered America’s equivalent of a royal wedding. The public became aware of their engagement nearly a year prior when they shared a viral Instagram post. This announcement included a slideshow of Kelce’s backyard converted into a flower-filled garden, showcasing Swift’s diamond ring set in yellow gold. This engagement prompted much speculation about the timing and style of their wedding. Rumors circulated that the wedding would be held at Madison Square Garden during the July 4 weekend.
NBC News had previously learned about an event booked at the Garden on July 3, reported first by The New York Times. Although it wasn’t confirmed whether the extensive gathering with 1,100 guests at MSG would be the actual wedding, permits to close streets in Manhattan and the venue’s reserved schedule suggested the wedding would occur that weekend.
Sources who attended the celebration revealed to NBC News that all guests were required to sign nondisclosure agreements through electronic invites. The event featured multiple musical performances by different artists.
“This is the love story that now forms a part of pop culture history,” a source stated.
The couple met when Kelce attended Swift’s Eras Tour concert at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, in July 2023. Kelce shared on ‘New Heights,’ his podcast with Jason Kelce, that he initially tried gifting Swift a friendship bracelet with his “number” at the concert but was stopped by security.
Swift shared on the same podcast post-engagement that she appreciated Kelce’s public gestures of admiration, saying it was something she dreamt of since her teenage years. Since then, their support for each other was visible at various public events, whether it was Swift at Kelce’s games or Kelce at Swift’s Eras Tour shows.
Fans, affectionately known as Swifties, celebrated the couple’s wedding online. While they rejoiced, many Swifties refrained from traveling to New York for a chance to witness the event at MSG. Irene Kim, a long-time fan and co-founder of Swifties for Kamala, explained this restraint. “It would be considered intrusive to invade her personal space,” she pointed out.
Despite past scrutiny over her love life and heartbreak-themed songs, Taylor Swift has found contentment and officially embraced her future with Kelce.
