The Los Angeles Rams experienced a tough loss against the Buffalo Bills, falling 37-34 on “Monday Night Football” during Week 5. The missed field goal attempt by the Rams gave the Bills an extra possession in overtime, allowing them to secure the win with their own field goal.
After the game, a confrontation reportedly occurred between Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson and Bills edge rusher Bradley Chubb. While the exact exchange between the two players is unclear, video footage suggests that Jackson punched Chubb. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jackson is likely to face a two-game suspension, although the NFL has not yet confirmed any action to the team or the NFL Players Association.
The Rams, with a current 2-3 record, are scheduled to face the Arizona Cardinals and the Las Vegas Raiders in the coming weeks. Despite the incident, Chubb expressed readiness to move on to Week 6. He stated, “It was an emotional game. Tempers flared. We flushed it and are onto next week.” Chubb downplayed the altercation, adding that while someone may have swung, he is focused on preparing for the upcoming match.
During the Monday night game, Chubb recorded two tackles. The Rams’ early-season performance has been disappointing, with three losses in their first five games. Head coach Sean McVay indicated the need for changes following the defeat. On Tuesday, the Rams released kicker Harrison Mevis after a missed field goal attempt and another that was blocked in overtime.
