Texas Rangers Opt for Faith & Family Night Instead of Pride Night

Among the 30 Major League Baseball teams, the Texas Rangers stand out as the only team choosing not to hold a Pride Night. The Rangers’ decision represents a unique approach in a time when many professional sports teams and leagues across America actively promote LGBTQ events.

In place of Pride Night, the Rangers continue to host a Faith & Family Night at their ballpark. This community-oriented event took place on Thursday, featuring significant participation from the team. Nearly a quarter of the Rangers roster reportedly shared insights into their faith during the event.

Participants included players such as Brandon Nimmo, Cody Bradford, Jalen Beeks, Jacob Latz, Evan Carter, Cody Freeman, Josh Jung, and Wyatt Langford. Nathan Eovaldi was expected to join but could not attend. Attendees praised the event as a memorable experience.

Addressing criticism for not holding a Pride Night, the Texas Rangers issued a statement in 2024 reaffirming their commitment to inclusivity. The statement emphasized their ongoing efforts to ensure that all fans and employees feel welcome and included in Rangers baseball, highlighting community-focused programs designed to have a positive impact.

This choice by the Rangers underscores their preference to remain neutral in cultural debates, focusing instead on providing diverse experiences for their community.
