The Hardy brothers, known for using ladders to clinch numerous tag team championships, showcased their skills at Slammiversary. Jeff Hardy, facing Bear Bronson and Brian Myers, Jason Hotch and John Skyler, and Vincent and Dutch, demonstrated again why they are iconic in professional wrestling.
During the event, Matt Hardy set up Hotch and Skyler between a ladder positioned between the barricade and the ring apron. Jeff Hardy climbed this setup and executed a Swanton Bomb from the top. Their teamwork led them to the ladder in the center of the ring, enabling them to claim the TNA World Tag Team Championship belts.
This victory marks the fifth tag team title reign for The Hardys in TNA, equaling the records held by Beer Money Inc and The Wolves. This triumph also signified their second reign in the past year. Last year at Slammiversary, they secured the titles and held them for 265 days before losing to Myers and Bronson at Rebellion. However, the Hardy brothers reclaimed their position at the top once more.
Bronson and Myers had maintained their title for 78 days before this defeat.
