Three Killed in Moscow Restaurant Explosion

A devastating explosion at a central Moscow restaurant resulted in the deaths of three individuals on a Saturday evening. Russia’s National Anti-Terrorism Committee identified the cause as a homemade explosive device.

Among the deceased were a woman who reportedly attempted to enter the restaurant with the device, a security guard, and a patron. This incident left at least 21 others injured according to Russian state news agency RIA Novosti.

The explosion took place at around 8 p.m. on a ground floor terrace restaurant located at Kudrinskaya Square, a site known for its seven Stalin-era skyscrapers.

Russian media identified the location as the Balzi Rossi Italian restaurant, which was reportedly closed on that day for a private event.

Reports included visuals of police vehicles and heavily armed law enforcement officers responding to the scene. The Associated Press and Reuters contributed to these details.
