A popular 22-year-old social media influencer, Ayzia J. Toledo, lost her life in a car accident over the weekend. The crash also resulted in the death of another passenger, according to authorities.
Officials identified Ayzia J. Toledo as a Philadelphia-area influencer known for her modeling and lifestyle content. She operated under the social media handle "AYZIA J." Toledo was driving a BMW with two others late Sunday night when she lost control on a New Jersey freeway. The vehicle veered off, overturned, and struck a tree in Deptford Township, roughly 12 miles south of Philadelphia.
“Toledo lost directional control of the vehicle, ran off the roadway to the left, overturned and struck a tree,” New Jersey State Police stated.
Toledo and her front-seat passenger sustained fatal injuries. The passenger, Henrietta F. Carter, was a 22-year-old woman from Darby, Pennsylvania. Another passenger in the rear of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
The crash is still under investigation. Toledo, who shared her beauty, fashion, and lifestyle content, was popular on social media. She had over 300,000 followers across various platforms, including more than 250,000 on TikTok and approximately 87,000 on Instagram.
Following the tragic news, her social media pages were filled with messages of grief and condolences from her fans.
A GoFundMe page dedicated to Toledo noted she was "building an incredible future for herself" and was "deeply loved by her family, cherished by friends, and admired by her community." The fundraiser also mentioned that Ayzia now rests peacefully alongside her mother and grandmother.
On the same day as Toledo’s death, another influencer, Brianna Johnson (DreamDoll Brii), was killed in a drive-by shooting in Miramar, Florida. She was riding in a Lamborghini SUV. These events mark a tragic period for young influencers.
