TikTok influencer Sara Gilson, also known as Sara Duffey, was found dead with her estranged husband, Jeremiah Shawn Duffey, in Owasso, Oklahoma. Authorities suspect a murder-suicide, as reported by local news outlet KTUL. A child in the home reported the incident to 911, claiming that their stepfather shot their mother.
Several weeks before the incident, Gilson posted a TikTok video where she accused her husband of being a pedophile. This video had a caption hinting at a potential future Netflix documentary about him.
Sara Duffey’s ex-husband, Lyle Landers, revealed that he had urged her to leave the relationship, which he described as abusive. Landers expressed his sadness, describing Sara as a devoted mother who would sacrifice anything for her children.
Earlier, Owasso Police received accusations against Jeremiah Shawn Duffey, who was a basketball coach. There were reports of him inappropriately touching a female child at a school event. These accusations led to the case being forwarded to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Similar allegations had been made against him before.
Sara Duffey obtained a protective order against Jeremiah, following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a minor. This prompted another woman to file a separate protective order against him for allegedly behaving inappropriately with her 15-year-old daughter, who was on the basketball team he coached.
