During Sunday night’s event, Trick Williams secured his second United States Championship. The win required several elements to fall into place. His manager, Lil Yachty, needed to last five minutes in the ring with Baron Corbin. Despite being put through a table after the bell, Yachty managed to secure Williams his chance at the title.
The event took place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Williams entered the ring amidst strong support from the crowd. From the outset, the match was intensely competitive, with both wrestlers exchanging powerful blows and attempts to gain dominance.
Baron Corbin seemed poised to retain his title. He sent Williams crashing into steel steps and the ring post. Taking a moment outside the ring, Corbin grabbed the championship belt. As he attempted to bring it back into the ring, Yachty intervened. A tug-of-war ensued, distracting the referee. Corbin used the opportunity to strike Williams with the belt and attempted a pin, but Williams kicked out.
Williams retaliated with a move known as the Trick Shot and successfully pinned Corbin, clinching his second United States Championship. Williams’ first reign had begun with a victory over Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 42 earlier this year. He lost the belt to Corbin at SummerSlam but seized this opportunity to reclaim it.
As Money in the Bank approaches, Williams is anticipated to face challenges. Possible contenders include Carmelo Hayes, Johnny Gargano, and Ricky Saints.
