President Donald Trump declared this week as “Anti-Communism Week,” the White House announced late this afternoon. The proclamation covers the week of November 1 through November 7, aiming to shield America’s liberty from communism’s “darkness.” Issued on November 3, Election Day, it parallels Trump’s recurring discourse during the 2026 midterm campaign.
The document marks the week when Democrats gained control of Congress. It warns of threats posed by socialist, communist, and radical left ideologies gaining traction in the U.S. Trump emphasizes that under his administration, the U.S. will resist these “evil ideologies.”
Despite this announcement, the Democratic-controlled Senate suggests potential challenges for Trump’s future Supreme Court and judicial appointments. With Democrats in the Senate majority until the end of Trump’s term, obstacles may arise, particularly if Supreme Court vacancies occur before the 2028 elections.
In parallel, Vice President JD Vance cautiously considered a presidential bid for 2028 in the wake of a Republican electoral defeat. The results reflect a rejection of Trump and the GOP branding.
Trump is also involved in an appeal related to his defamation suit dismissal against the Wall Street Journal. The lawsuit concerns a birthday card allegedly sent by Trump to Jeffrey Epstein, a claim Trump denies.
Meanwhile, the Mississippi Senate race extends into counts and potential recounts, aligning with Democratic successes in the South, including Texas and South Carolina, despite recent Republican safe holds.
Colorado voters have opposed Amendment 81, regarding law enforcement’s coordination with the DHS as per NBC News projections.
Additionally, Representative Robert Garcia disclosed upcoming House Oversight investigations targeting Trump’s family, highlighting queries into Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding expenses, Jared Kushner’s business dealings, and Trump’s supposed “crypto scheme.” The inquiry will also address corporate corruption, focusing on contracts linked to Trump’s renovation projects and international conflicts.
House Democrats, set to hold leadership elections shortly, plan to pursue aggressive oversight while navigating legislative priorities, including addressing the cost of living.
