Ukrainian Woman Suspected in Monaco Bombing Found Dead

A Ukrainian woman, suspected of attempting to kill a wealthy businessman in Monaco, has been found shot dead in Kyiv. Ukraine’s prosecutor general’s office reported this incident on Tuesday.

The woman, identified as 39-year-old Anastasiia Berezovska, faced accusations linked to a bombing in Monaco targeting Ukrainian-born businessman Vadym Yermolaiev. The attack injured Yermolaiev, his wife, and their son. The blast occurred in the lobby of an apartment building.

Berezovska was placed under an Interpol “Red Notice” for charges related to attempted murder and planting an explosive device. Authorities state she arrived in Ukraine a day after the bombing and maintained contact with two men.

“The first is a former law enforcement officer, and the second is an employee of the HUR under the Ministry of Internal Affairs,” Ukraine’s SBU security agency explained.

Investigations revealed transfers to Berezovska’s crypto and bank accounts from these men, linking them to the Monaco incident. The HUR employee confessed to her murder alongside another suspect. He claimed he acted independently of his superiors and had not disclosed his interactions with Berezovska.

Authorities uncovered a room resembling a torture chamber during a search of the former officer’s home. Monaco authorities have not confirmed the victims’ details, but reports suggest Yermolaiev and his family were the targets. Deputy public prosecutor Morgan Raymon stated the bomb was remotely detonated.

The attack has sent shockwaves through Monaco, a nation reputed for its affluent populace. Prince Albert II condemned the act, assuring that all resources were being utilized to maintain public safety.

Emergency personnel were deployed near the site of the explosion, reflecting the severity and impact of the attack.
