The Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships will be broadcast live from Phoenix. NBC Sports and Peacock will air the events from Thursday through Sunday.
Men’s Competition: The men’s events are scheduled for Thursday (10 p.m. ET) and Saturday (7:30 p.m. ET) on Peacock and NBCSN. Frederick Richard and Stephen Nedoroscik, both 2024 Olympic bronze medalists, lead the men’s team. They aim for a spot on the World Championships team for the event in Rotterdam, Netherlands, in October. The men’s all-around champion at nationals will secure the first team spot if he finishes in the top three on at least three of the six apparatuses. The complete men’s team will be announced by Sunday.
Women’s Competition: Scheduled for Friday (10 p.m. ET) and Sunday (6 p.m. ET), the women’s events will also air on Peacock and NBCSN. Jade Carey, competing in her hometown, and Hezly Rivera, both Olympic gold medalists, are key competitors. Unlike the men’s team, women cannot secure a world team spot at nationals. Leading gymnasts will advance to a selection competition in early autumn in Crossville, Tennessee, where the final five-woman team will be chosen.
Carey has resumed elite competition this season following the Paris Olympics. Rivera, who was the youngest U.S. athlete at the Paris Olympics at 16, aims to become the second woman in 13 years to repeat as U.S. all-around champion. Previous champion Simone Biles won a record nine titles. Other notable competitors include Skye Blakely and Reese Esponda.
