The widow, Terry Strada, whose husband died in the attacks, accused past U.S. administrations of protecting Saudi interests over the needs of victim families. Her words echoed long-standing frustrations over inaccessible FBI records, especially regarding Saudi national Omar al-Bayoumi.
The extent of Saudi involvement remains one of the most-searched questions. Fifteen of the 19 hijackers were Saudi nationals.
