President Trump recently announced on social media that a peace agreement with Iran is nearing completion. Although the final details are still under discussion, a formal announcement is anticipated soon.
In an interview with CBS News, President Trump revealed that negotiations between the United States and Iran are advancing positively. Sources indicate that the proposal involves reopening the Strait of Hormuz, releasing some of Iran’s frozen assets, and continuing diplomatic talks.
President Trump refrained from sharing specific details of the agreement but expressed optimism, noting that the deal would prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons and ensure proper handling of Iran’s enriched uranium.
He emphasized that he would only endorse a deal that fully meets U.S. demands. Discussions are ongoing, and President Trump is consulting with his advisers and foreign leaders.
On Saturday, President Trump held phone discussions with leaders from several Gulf countries and other nations, including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, and Qatar. Sources said there is uncertainty among these leaders regarding President Trump’s decision.
President Trump warned of severe consequences if an agreement is not reached, suggesting unprecedented levels of impact on affected countries. He previously cautioned Iran before a ceasefire in April, suggesting dire outcomes without a deal and stressing the urgency with statements like ‘the Clock is Ticking.’
Meanwhile, Secretary of State Marco Rubio mentioned potential news about the negotiations later in the day. He acknowledged progress in the negotiations and expressed hope for resolution within days, underscoring the necessity of finding a solution.
