J. Michael Waller, a former CIA operative, claims that China and Russia are deploying ‘sex spies’ in the United States. Their objective is to obtain technology and state secrets, engaging in psychological warfare to maintain a strategic edge. Waller discussed these tactics in an interview with Fox News Digital.
Waller recounted his experience in Poland while working for the CIA. He encountered a young Chinese woman, around 25 years old, who appeared interested in his work. Upon further interaction, he discovered she was a spy and reported her to Polish authorities. The Polish government expelled the woman within days.
Waller explained that the Chinese spy was aware of personal details not publicly available. This knowledge underscored the depth of their intelligence operations.
They take advantage of the fact that people are lonely or just want to have a good time or, you know, need company or whatever else,” Waller said. “They do what’s been done since biblical times. They use sex as a weapon.
Earlier this year, the U.S. government prohibited its employees from engaging in romantic or sexual relationships with Chinese citizens while working in China. This policy was initiated by former U.S. Ambassador Nicholas Burns prior to his departure during President Donald Trump’s administration.
Waller described these practices as psychological warfare, targeting professionals like engineers and politicians. The aim is to foster long-term emotional connections, sometimes leading to marriages and families.
Aliia Roza, a former Russian ‘sex spy,’ shared insights with the New York Post. Roza mentioned that foreign agents are concentrating their efforts on Silicon Valley to access new technologies and trade secrets.
It starts with love bombing — messages full of compliments, selfies, bikini photos,” Roza said. “They pretend to be weak or alone: ‘My parents were killed, I’m a student, I’m broke.’ It triggers the hero instinct. Every man wants to feel like the rescuer.
Waller offered practical advice for Americans who might find themselves targeted: “If someone from China who’s super, super hot is really interested in you and you’re nowhere near in that league — she’s a spy,” he said.
