President Donald Trump provided an exclusive tour of the White House Ballroom project, emphasizing its innovative design and secure environment for formal gatherings. Trump described the development as a gift to the nation, funded by American patriots, capable of accommodating up to 2,000 guests and ensuring long-term safety for leaders.
The project is embroiled in legal issues as Trump criticized U.S. District Judge Richard Leon for blocking progress. Trump accused the judge of yielding to a ‘serial plaintiff’ whose lawsuit, he claims, endangers national security. According to Trump, the new DronePort, part of the ballroom, is a critical security upgrade for Washington, D.C.
Trump expressed frustration with Judge Leon, urging dismissal of the lawsuit that he attributes to a litigious individual with no legal standing. He warned of dire consequences for the country if the injunction is not lifted, especially after a shooting incident at a White House checkpoint highlighted the need for advanced security measures.
The lawsuit, filed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, argues against unauthorized construction of the ballroom. Leon ruled Trump lacked authority without congressional approval, stalling above-ground development. Yet, an appeals court paused this ruling, allowing construction to proceed temporarily.
The ballroom project includes a rooftop drone base and a six-story underground military facility with medical and research capabilities. Trump emphasized the military-grade roof’s resilience, claiming it is designed to deflect drone attacks while serving as a protective port for the city.
The proposal has sparked debate over presidential authority, security expenditure, and historic preservation. Despite legal challenges, Trump maintains that the $400 million ballroom is essential for hosting secure, large-scale events that current White House venues cannot accommodate.
Security features of the project include titanium fences, fortified roofing, impact-resistant glass, and subterranean facilities. The structure’s durability is highlighted by Trump, who assured that the fencing is impenetrable even by a bulldozer.
