Robert De Niro recently shared insights into his friendship with pop star and actress Ariana Grande, following their collaboration on the comedy film “Focker-In-Law.” Despite working together, De Niro confessed he hasn’t yet seen Grande’s role in the popular film “Wicked,” although he plans to watch it with his daughter.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, De Niro expressed his intentions, saying, “I didn’t see her movie, and I still am trying to see it, believe it or not, but I want to see it. I’m going to see it with my daughter. And she’s, of course, seen it.”
While De Niro might not have watched “Wicked,” he is familiar with Grande’s work through his daughter’s influence. He recalled, “I had seen her in some stuff with my daughter, some sitcom thing she had done.” He reflected on his awareness of Grande’s entertainment career, acknowledging her past work that resonated with his family.

He continued by stating, “I’m forgetting the name. My kid was into that. I was aware of her then and, of course, aware of her in other ways. She was great.” This likely refers to her work in a Nickelodeon show.
Regarding their shared project “Focker-In-Law,” De Niro praised Grande’s acting skills. In the film, set to debut in theaters on Nov. 25, she portrays Olivia, the girlfriend of Henry Focker. De Niro said about Grande’s performance, “She was very professional. She’s terrific and very quick and got it all. She was very much part of the whole process. I liked her. Nice kid.”

De Niro’s positive feedback underscores Grande’s versatility. Although she’s widely recognized for her singing talent, De Niro’s comments highlight her abilities in acting, affirming her professionalism and dedication.
