In a post online, Ball, who last played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, labeled Jalen Brunson as “the best Knick to do it…like ever.”
This comment followed Brunson’s formidable performance, where he scored 30 points, helping the New York Knicks secure a 105-95 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
Ball and Brunson last opposed each other on Christmas Day in New York. During that game, Brunson led the Knicks with a scoring drive, resulting in a narrow 126-124 win over the Cavaliers at Madison Square Garden. Ball contributed by coming off the bench, playing 14 minutes and securing one rebound.
Since joining the Knicks, Brunson has gained a reputation for his clutch performances, playing a significant role in the Knicks making their first NBA Finals appearance in over 20 years. In Game 1, Brunson helped to lead a strong second-half rally.
“Brunson has become a vital player for the Knicks,” said a sports analyst.
The Knicks require three more victories to claim their first championship in over 50 years.
