More information surfaces about the eagerly awaited third installment in the “Sicario” series. Since its inception in 2015, this gritty film franchise, crafted by Taylor Sheridan, has remained a standout production in cinema.
While confirmation of a third film excites fans, reports show that Sheridan will not return to write the script. Steven Knight has taken over this responsibility. Despite Sheridan’s absence, the original cast brings new energy to the project.
Star-Studded Cast Returns
Josh Brolin, who portrays CIA operator Matt Graver, will return alongside Benicio Del Toro and Emily Blunt. Though Blunt did not appear in the sequel, she played a crucial role in the original movie.
Brolin addressed Sheridan’s absence and the script’s progress in a recent interview with ScreenRant. He described the script’s development as still in progress, mentioning that it’s “in the notes process.” He expressed excitement about reuniting with Del Toro and Blunt.
“We adore each other, and we’ve all worked together before. Benicio and I, this will be our sixth film together. It’s fantastic [to work with Emily again]. I just sent her a little voice memo yesterday, and I just adore her,” Brolin stated.
There is still no official release date for “Sicario 3.” Fans will need patience as they await the film’s debut on the big screen.
