President Donald Trump bewildered the internet on Saturday by sharing an image of an unidentified woman with the caption, “Great daughter. My Honor!!!” The identity of the woman in the photograph and the intention of the message remain unclear as the woman is not one of Trump’s daughters.
Newsweek made efforts to contact the White House on Sunday for a comment, reaching out via online form and email.
Who Is the Woman in the Photo?
The image portrays a blonde woman smiling at the camera, holding a landline phone to her ear. Newsweek’s visual analysis suggests she might be in Camp David, Maryland, where Trump was expected to spend the weekend. Notable features in the room, like a red sofa and other furniture, match images from during President George W. Bush’s tenure. The presence of the Arkansas state seal on the sofa suggests the picture could be from President Bill Clinton’s administration.
Journalist Aaron Rupar shared a screenshot of the unusual Truth Social post on X, asking, “Who is this?” Journalist Mikey Smith posited, “OK – I think I’ve solved the mystery… I’m pretty sure the woman is Margo Catsimatidis, and I think the picture was taken at Camp David, possibly during the Clinton Administration.”
Who Is Margo Catsimatidis?
Margo Catsimatidis is a businesswoman, philanthropist, and community leader. Born in Indiana, she moved to New York City in 1971 to pursue ballet. Despite a promising start in dance, an injury redirected her career path. In 1973, she joined Red Apple Supermarkets and later married John Catsimatidis. Together, they developed the Red Apple Group into a significant conglomerate in supermarkets, real estate, aviation, and energy.
In 1984, she founded MCV Advertising Associates, a top retail print advertising agency in New York. She is also noted for her philanthropic ventures, having co-founded the Hellenic Times Scholarship Fund in 1989, which has provided over $2 million in scholarships to more than 800 Greek American students. Margo and her husband co-publish the Hellenic Times, the largest Greek American newspaper in English in the U.S. She is part of Leadership 100, supporting the Greek Orthodox Church in America.
Her charitable involvements include roles with organizations like the Alzheimer’s Association and New York Hospital. In recognition of her service, she received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 2000.
Manhattan GOP Connection?
If the woman in Trump’s post is Margo Catsimatidis, the mention of a “great daughter” might refer to her daughter, Andrea, a notable GOP activist and Trump supporter. Andrea has met Trump and shared their images on social media. Newsweek reached out to Margo and Andrea Catsimatidis for comments via online form and social media.
Identity Still Unknown
Whether Trump was referring to Andrea Catsimatidis in his post is yet confirmed, and the true identity of the woman in the photo remains a mystery. The Truth Social post comments are filled with users questioning who she might be, but no definitive answers have been found.
