TNA Launches Tournament to Crown First Knockouts TV Champion

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) announced a new development in their women’s division at the Slammiversary event on Sunday. Legendary wrestler Traci Brooks shared the exciting news with the Boston audience that a new championship title is coming to the Knockouts division. A 16-woman tournament will start on TNA’s show “Impact” this Thursday to determine the first-ever Knockouts TV champion.

The tournament will bring together both new talent and familiar faces. Some of the first-round matchups include:

  • Indi Hartwell versus Vicki Venuto
  • Harley Hudson versus Thea Hail
  • Elayna Black versus Wendy Choo
  • M by Elegance versus Rosemary
  • Jade Stone versus Alisha Edwards
  • Jody Threat versus Gabby Forza
  • Mara Sadè versus Tasha Steelz
  • Heather by Elegance versus Allie

Matches will be broadcast on AMC every Thursday night, starting at 9 p.m. ET. The winner will have the honor of becoming the inaugural Knockouts TV champion.

The tournament features some intriguing rematches. Heather by Elegance will face Allie once again, following their encounter at Slammiversary where Allie and Rosemary defeated Heather and M by Elegance to claim the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship.

In addition to the women’s tournament, “Impact” will feature several other matches. Highlights include:

  • Leon Slater versus Eddie Edwards
  • Ryan Nemeth versus KC Navarro
  • An X Division Championship No. 1 contenders match featuring Fabian Aichner, Mr. Elegance, BDE, Rich Swann, and Home Town Man

Fans can also look forward to appearances by the new TNA World Champion, Nic Nemeth, alongside TNA Women’s Champion Xia Brookside, and Ricky Sosa, who are expected to address the audience.
