Blind Flights Beer Tasting Fundraiser

The Carpentersville Rotary Club is organizing a Blind Flights beer tasting fundraiser. This event will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, at Carpenter Park, located at 275 Maple Ave., Carpentersville. Attendees can enjoy beer from nine local breweries. The event will also feature live music and food available for purchase from No Manches and Duke’s Blues-N-BBQ. The first 150 attendees will receive a complimentary tasting glass.

Benefit Concert for Anderson Humane

To celebrate 60 years of Anderson Humane in South Elgin, a benefit concert will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, at the St. Charles Motorcycle Museum & Art Gallery located at 1317 E. Main St., St. Charles. Performers include The Bare Hambones, Rishi Maze, Saturday Morning Punk Rock Club, and Little King Trashmouth.

Fox River Trolley Museum’s ‘All Aboard Days’

“All Aboard Days” for those with special needs will be held at the Fox River Trolley Museum from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays, July 12 and August 9.

Trolley rides will be adjusted for sensory-friendly experiences. A sensory-friendly area will be available at the Wayne depot, and a special quiet train will run. Visitors needing special accommodations should contact the museum in advance for assistance. Regular admission rates apply, and reservations are not required.

Free Concert at Lords Park Zoo

Chamber Music on the Fox presents The Outset Trio in a free concert from noon to 1 p.m. on Monday, July 13, at Lords Park Zoo, 325 Hiawatha Drive, Elgin. The performance will include music by composer Mark O’Connor, blending bluegrass, country, jazz, and classical styles.

Seigle Foundation Education Grants

The Seigle Foundation has awarded $356,250 in grants to 11 nonprofit organizations focused on education. Recipients include Alignment Collaborative for Education, Boys and Girls Clubs of North Central Illinois, Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley, Elgin Public Museum, Enriching Partnerships for Early Learning, among others.

Theresa Forthofer, president and CEO of Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley, explained that support from these grants helps families and children with developmental disabilities overcome barriers and reach milestones. Family Fun Event by AID

The Association for Individual Development (AID) will host a family fun event from 1 to 4 p.m. on Friday, July 10, at Wildwood Commons Apartments at 695 S. State St., Elgin. Free ice cream, games, and activities for children are planned.
