Idaho Mother Charged with Murder in Death of Twin Toddlers

An Idaho mother, Andrea Shaw, 23, has been charged with the murder of her twin 18-month-old children. The Payette Police Department announced her indictment on two counts of first-degree murder. She was arrested in Boise following the indictment.

Police discovered the bodies of the boy and girl in a shared bed on May 1, 2025. Although the police have not released an official cause of death, an indictment in Payette accuses Shaw of suffocating her children, Dallas and Tyson, according to a report by KTVB.

In the wake of the children’s deaths, Shaw and her husband appeared on a podcast by Children’s Health Defense, an anti-vaccine group formerly led by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Shaw alleged that the twins fell ill and passed away shortly after receiving vaccinations.

Shaw’s attorney, Joe Filicetti, maintains the belief that the children’s deaths were connected to the vaccines, though he has not provided evidence to back this claim. “They were looking at it as a vaccine death, and that’s still what I believe it to be,” Filicetti stated to KTVB.

Recently, Shaw gave birth to another child prematurely via cesarean section. Her husband is currently caring for the newborn.

Initially, Shaw was held in Ada County Jail before being transferred to Payette County. She remains in custody with a $2 million bond set.

During her virtual arraignment at the Payette County District Court, the court reviewed the charges. Shaw was informed of the potential consequences, which include the death penalty.
