The 2026 NFL season fast approaches, much to the surprise of many fans. Joe Flacco, at 41, remains in the spotlight, now with the Cincinnati Bengals. After a midseason trade in 2025, Flacco transitioned from the Cleveland Browns organization, where he initially spent training camp and the early season.
The Browns’ quarterback lineup was remarkable. It included Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and two rookies: Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders. Flacco’s main duty was to mentor these young players, guiding them through the complexities of playing quarterback at the NFL level.

In a recent episode of Netflix’s “Quarterback,” Flacco expressed strong opinions on helmet visors. He made it clear to Sanders that wearing a visor was merely for looks. “You think you look sweet. It’s that era,” Flacco remarked. He argued that visors often fog up and become a nuisance.
“They f***** suck, dude. It’s all about look,” Flacco said. “When I was a kid I wanted a visor too, and then I’m like, ‘The visors suck. They don’t make sense.'”
Flacco’s comments tackled the practicality of visors, implying that quarterbacks should avoid the temptation of style over function. Sanders, in response, continued wearing a visor in minicamp, though opting for a clearer version than the mirrored one previously used.
The Browns’ preseason kicks off on August 15 against the Bears, while they start the regular season against the Jaguars on September 13. Flacco and the Bengals will face the Lions in their preseason opener before taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on September 13.
One thing is certain, Flacco doesn’t plan on wearing a visor in any of these games.
