ICE Officer Rescues Child from Drowning; Tennessee Woman Charged in Pool Incident

In Pasco County, Florida, ICE Law Enforcement Officer Gregory Simmons detailed a dramatic pool rescue. He saved a 6-year-old child from drowning. Simmons acted quickly, performing CPR to revive the unconscious child. His prompt response underscores the bravery of law enforcement officers in emergencies.

In a separate incident, a woman in Tennessee faced arrest after a pool-related incident with her child. Mikaylee Rae Beirne, 31, from Johnson City, received charges of aggravated child abuse and neglect. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported this incident occurred on July 15.

Sheriff Keith Sexton stated deputies arrived at a disturbance on Cochran Road at around 5 p.m. Witnesses indicated Beirne was in the pool with several children. Another adult was inside the house when one child ran inside, reporting that Beirne was allegedly forcing another child underwater.

The adult hurried to the pool and demanded Beirne release the child, but she allegedly refused. Authorities reported that the adult managed to pull Beirne away and assist the child out of the pool.

An additional adult reportedly arrived and briefly interacted with Beirne before deputies showed up. Beirne left the location before law enforcement arrived. Authorities noted the children were taken inside, and emergency services were contacted. The child sustained minor injuries and bruises.

Deputies later located Beirne and took her into custody. She is currently held at the Washington County Detention Center under a $50,000 bond.
