Roschon Johnson, RB
Running back Roschon Johnson appeared to be part of the Chicago Bears’ future plans after an impressive rookie season in 2024, rushing for 352 yards and scoring six touchdowns. However, his performance last season was limited to two carries over seven games. Meanwhile, rookie Kyle Monangai emerged with 783 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Additionally, the Bears secured Salvon Ahmed early in the offseason, which puts Johnson’s position in jeopardy. He might need to seek a new team by August.
Scotty Miller, WR
Scotty Miller’s role on the team becomes more uncertain with new additions to the Bears’ wide receiver lineup. The team’s depth allowed them to trade D.J. Moore to the Buffalo Bills. Now, Luther Burden III and Rome Odunze lead the receivers. Free-agent signing Kalif Raymond and promising rookie Zavion Thomas, who was drafted in the third round, have gained significant attention. As the regular season nears, Miller faces the possibility of being pushed down the depth chart and potentially released.
Jaylon Jones, CB
The cornerback position is notably competitive in Chicago. Jaylon Johnson, Kyler Gordon, and Tyrique Stevenson offer strong options, with rookie Malik Muhammad showing potential. Other cornerbacks, including Jaylon Jones, face a crowded field featuring Josh Blackwell, KC Eziomume, Dallis Flowers, Cam Lewis, Dontae Manning, and Terrell Smith. At 29 years old, Jones might be let go to pave the way for younger talent.
