A live video featuring celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, streamed on TikTok, has led to multiple calls to Miami police. The video appeared to show Hilton injuring himself in his Miami residence. This prompted law enforcement to respond swiftly.
The Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office confirmed receiving numerous calls about the incident. Deputies arrived at Hilton’s home and communicated with family members there. Hilton was alone at the time. Authorities decided to ‘tactically disengage’ while continuing to monitor the situation closely.
“In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritize de-escalation by creating time, distance, and opportunities for communication. Unless there is an immediate threat to others, slowing the situation and using crisis intervention techniques can reduce the likelihood of a suicide-by-cop encounter and minimize the risk of injury to the individual, deputies, and the public,” the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office stated.
Efforts to contact Hilton’s representatives have not yielded any response as of publication. The video in question, which depicted Hilton cutting himself and appearing covered in blood, has been removed and Hilton’s TikTok account is suspended. The specifics of who was in the home during the filming are unclear, but Hilton is known to have three children born in 2013, 2015, and 2017.
This year, Hilton faced several health challenges, being hospitalized for an ulcer and severe sepsis following flu medication without food. He was also hospitalized for deep vein thrombosis, requiring a blood clot removal. In a separate online post, Hilton revealed turning to the Bible and attributed his recovery to divine intervention, expressing profound feelings toward God.
