Jamie Kennedy recently voiced his opinions on what he perceives as America’s modern hypocrisy in a solo episode of his podcast, Hate to Break It to Ya. In this episode, Kennedy discussed the implications of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and current events, such as the Fauci hearings.
Kennedy expressed concern about the societal response to the pandemic, stating that many people appear “beyond brainwashed.” He recounted instances of being criticized for simply endorsing policies from both sides of the political spectrum. Highlighting personal experiences, Kennedy revealed that he’s often labeled a “maggot” for supporting certain Republican actions.
Despite leaning right, Kennedy clarified he never voted and agreed with some liberal policies. He mentioned being labeled negatively when supporting policies like border security under Trump. Kennedy believes people who prioritize policy over party allegiance are more open-minded. He questioned the inclusivity of those who exclude differing viewpoints.
He also shared an experience of performing a comedy set in a parking lot to support a struggling bar during lockdown. He noted the irony of almost being shut down while nearby, a television crew operated without issue due to state sanctioning. Kennedy described this situation as hypocritical, affecting a “female, family-owned business.” He criticized what he saw as judgmental attitudes from the left.
Furthermore, Kennedy spoke about the differences between the political right and left. He argued that leftists fail to meet their own standards when they react negatively if they don’t get their way. He contrasted this with right-leaning individuals who may hold “hateful” beliefs but are more consistent in their views.
Kennedy shared more examples, such as reactions to Charlie Kirk’s murder. He expressed that those who displayed happiness over Kirk’s death demonstrated a lack of empathy. He criticized individuals who claim to support inclusion while behaving destructively.
Illustrating his point further, Kennedy labeled the mindset he opposed as a “cult of closed-mindedness.” In his view, it contradicts the principles of inclusion and openness.
