A Senate Republican is pushing to investigate Dr. Anthony Fauci’s government phone due to concerns over vaccines and miscarriages. Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin shared with Fox News Digital that texts from Fauci’s old iPhone indicate Fauci privately expressed worries that vaccines might cause miscarriages during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In an interview, Johnson claimed that Fauci communicated one message publicly, while privately expressing different views. He criticized the approach of encouraging pregnant women to take what he describes as “experimental gene therapy” during early pregnancy.
“We tell pregnant women not to even have a glass of wine, yet they were coerced into taking these vaccines,” Johnson asserted.
The investigation revolves around text messages from Fauci’s time as head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. These messages included a conversation with then-CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky and future Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy in January 2021, where Fauci raised concerns about mRNA vaccines and potential miscarriage risks.
Fauci mentioned, “Since many people have significant cytokines storm and fever after the second dose, this theoretically could be linked to miscarriage in the first trimester.” Johnson emphasized that this was not publicly acknowledged by federal health officials at that time.
According to Johnson, a study in the New England Journal of Medicine revealed that out of 827 pregnancies exposed to the mRNA vaccines, 104 ended in what they label “spontaneous abortions” or miscarriages. He argued the data was misrepresented, suggesting a high miscarriage rate among women vaccinated in the first two trimesters.
Johnson continues to investigate, emphasizing the need to differentiate between private concerns and public statements made by Fauci. As the investigation is ongoing, Johnson remains cautious about releasing details that might include personal information.
This scrutiny highlights the complex relationship between public health communications and individual concerns during the pandemic.
