The preliminary autopsy of actress Hayden Panettiere showed no signs of trauma. She was found dead at 36 in a South Carolina apartment. Her death investigation was covered on ‘America Reports’ by Fox News senior national correspondent, William La Jeunesse.
Relationship with Brian Hickerson
Panettiere had a turbulent relationship with her ex-boyfriend Brian Hickerson. He was present at the apartment when she was found unresponsive, as stated in the police report. The relationship had previously led to charges of domestic violence and his conviction.
Hickerson and his brother, Zach, called 911 after discovering Panettiere unresponsive. Authorities interviewed both men and carried out a search of the premises. The police report noted that Zach appeared emotional during attempts to revive her, while Hickerson showed emotion after she was pronounced deceased.
Hickerson provided a bag of medications Panettiere was allegedly taking to officers. They met through friends in 2018 after her split from Wladimir Klitschko. Despite legal issues, they maintained an on-and-off relationship.
Legal Troubles and Allegations
Hickerson faced several legal challenges related to Panettiere. In 2019, he was charged with domestic violence, followed by multiple felony charges in 2020. In 2021, he pled no contest to two felony charges, leading to a sentence with other charges dropped as part of a plea deal.
Panettiere discussed the allegations publicly, aiming to help others in similar situations. She expressed a wish to prevent further harm by sharing her story and acknowledged her support system in overcoming personal challenges.
Court Developments
Before her passing, Hickerson made court appearances to reduce his felony charges. Three days prior to Panettiere’s death, a Los Angeles judge denied his requests to expunge and reduce the charges. This marked his second attempt to address the charges within a short period.
