For the general election, Graham will contend with pediatrician Annie Andrews. The Democratic optimism stems from Graham’s perceived inexperience, which has become a focal point for voters. Mike Nellis, a Democratic strategist, echoed sentiments of opportunity, praising Andrews’s candidacy.
Andrews, who emerged victorious in the Democratic primary, anticipates high voter turnout, particularly in South Carolina’s Democratic base. “National Democrats – South Carolina is now a real pick-up opportunity with Annie Andrews running against this candidate,” said Patrice Snow, previously a press secretary during Tom Steyer’s presidential campaign.
