Two teachers sustained gunshot wounds during student protests in France on Monday morning. The incidents have increased attention on safety concerns.
The National Education system has confirmed that at least eight personnel were injured in the disturbances. However, this number does not include the principal of a middle school and a teacher who was injured by a shotgun blast in the town of Aubagne.
The violence is intensifying, the ministry stated, noting the unrest is particularly concentrated in areas including the Créteil academy, Bordeaux, and Lyon.
This situation is developing. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
