In a detailed 22-page letter, North Carolina Republican Representative Chuck Edwards addressed an ethics report that accused him of persistent unprofessional and inappropriate conduct.
On August 27, 2026, the House is preparing to vote on the potential censure of Rep. Edwards. The decision might occur as soon as next week, following the allegations made public through an ethics investigation.
Edwards defended his actions in the letter, sent to his congressional colleagues, asserting that his interactions with two young female staff members do not constitute sexual harassment. He claimed these interactions did not deserve the response of an official House censure.
