At the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia, Smithsonian museum workers stood by its side. The Nighthawk’s dark form became visible as the hangar door opened, accompanied by the sound of a safety alarm, and it emerged into the bright sunlight.
