ChatGPT and similar AI assistants boast billions of users. However, detailed data on actual usage remains limited and scattered. To address this, researchers introduced the AI Observatory. This is a public tool designed to analyze AI usage by examining anonymized chat data from seven distinct sources.
The AI Observatory recently explored these interactions and discovered that approximately half of the conversations with chatbots were unrelated to work tasks. This finding sheds light on the diverse ways in which people engage with AI tools in their daily routines.
Through the Observatory, researchers aim to provide a clearer understanding of how AI is integrated into various aspects of life. Insights from this research could help improve the utility and functionality of AI applications.
