Allen Robinson announced his retirement from the NFL on his 33rd birthday, sharing his decision on Instagram. This marks the end of his 11-year professional football career. Robinson expressed his gratitude for the journey he experienced and reflected on the impact football had on his life.
“As I reflect on another year of life, I find myself especially grateful; not just for where I am, but for the journey that brought me here,” Robinson wrote. “This birthday feels a little different. It marks not only another year, but the beginning of a new chapter.”
His career spanned several teams, including the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Detroit Lions. Despite not playing in the 2024 season, Robinson decided to retire with a legacy rooted in his impressive on-field achievements.
Robinson’s NFL journey concluded with a total of 565 catches, 7,058 receiving yards, and 43 touchdowns. His standout year came with the Jaguars in 2015, where he achieved 80 receptions, contributing 1,400 yards and scoring 14 touchdowns. He also had two notable 1,000-yard seasons with the Bears, in 2019 and 2020, reaching Pro Bowl-caliber performances.
In 2019, Robinson recorded 98 catches, 1,147 yards, and seven touchdowns. The following year, his stats rose to 102 catches, 1,250 yards, and six touchdowns. Unfortunately, after suffering a season-ending foot injury with the Rams in 2022, his career did not regain its momentum.
Robinson retires with one Pro Bowl appearance and a stint as the NFL’s leader in touchdown receptions for a season. His announcement underscores the deep appreciation he has for the sport and the lasting memories he cherishes.
