The Arizona Cardinals have successfully negotiated a deal with one of their starting offensive linemen, ensuring his presence in the team for the foreseeable future. Hjalte Froholdt, a center, has signed a two-year, $20 million extension with the Cardinals as of Tuesday, August 25, 2026. This extension follows his initial two-year contract with the team signed in March 2023.

Froholdt’s journey in the NFL began as a guard drafted in the fourth round in 2019. Despite the challenges faced by the Cardinals’ offensive line, which conceded the fifth most sacks in the league last season, Froholdt has emerged as a dependable figure. His reliability is further demonstrated by his health, as he played every regular season game since September 2023 for Arizona.
The Cardinals still face challenges with their offensive line. Thirty-one-year-old right tackle Elijah Wilkinson is not widely regarded as a first-team quality starter. Likewise, guard Isaiah Adams has yet to establish himself as a key player. Nonetheless, securing Froholdt’s expertise provides some stability to the team’s roster for the next three years.
